Has everybody heard of Auto Brokers? When you where shopping for your last vehicle purchase did you call your Auto Broker or go to his or her website to check out available local dealer inventory, or perhaps what was coming up at the dealer only auction sales.

We'll, if your answer is "NO" you’re not alone.

What if I rephrase that question to say has everybody heard of Real Estate agents? I'm sure I will get a resounding "YES".

I like to use the Real Estate agent analogy when explaining Auto Brokers, as it's very fitting. Realtor's work on behalf of their clients, whether they are buying or selling a house, Realtors have a fiduciary responsibility to represent only their clients best interest in the home buying or selling transaction. Auto Brokers employ the same fiduciary responsibility, at least the good ones.

Buying an automobile is the second largest purchase consumers make, the first being home purchases. We so wisely use experienced Realtor's to help us navigate through the home buying process. Using an Auto Broker for your next automobile purchase is much the same, Auto Broker's take their clients through the automobile buying process. They not only can assist with finding you the vehicle you desire, some make it very simple by bring all dealer inventory to you by having it on their websites. Just like the good Realtor sites on the web today.

Auto Brokers are typically former General Managers, New or Used Car Sales Managers, Dealership Team Leaders, or perhaps former owners who ran their own used car lots. Auto Brokers charge a flat fee for their service so you know exactly what the charge for their service is. Having worked in the industry they know how dealerships operate, the ins and outs as it where. The majority of Auto Brokers today are smaller operations, meaning they run their business from positive word mouth marketing; internet marketing and most have strong people skills and as you would guess, above average negotiators. Most Auto Brokers don’t operate a conventional brick and mortar business, meaning low flat rates for services are do in part to low overhead, home based or small offices are normal for Auto Brokers.

There are many benefits for consumers using Auto Brokers for their next vehicle purchase.

Not all Auto Brokers are equal, just like all professions you will want to do your own due diligence when shopping for an Auto Broker. First and foremost, you will want to ensure they are a licensed dealer. A licensed Auto Broker will tell you they are not a fly by night and can legally sell cars. Second, you will want to ensure they don’t receive compensation from dealerships, and aren’t affiliated with any dealerships. Most Auto Brokers will want to speak to their background and knowledge of the auto industry & market, neither the first ,nor the second will be an issue for any Auto Broker that is truly consumer orientated. Car buying can be a frustrating, complicated process, but with a Auto Broker working on your behalf it doesn’t have to be.
